Rabi Thapa- CEO
Rabi Thapa, CEO of Sacred Summits (P) Ltd, with more than 19 years in the trek and tour business, has immense expertise both as a trekker as well as an industry entrepreneur. Rabi has worked in various capacities with major responsibilities as Operations Manager, General Manager, Director of Operations and Sales, as well as a shareholder in prominent travel organizations. Some of the companies he worked with during the course of his career are the Tiger Mountain group, the Temple Tiger group, and Himalayan Holidays (P) Limited.
A few of Rabi's remarkable achievements that demonstated his ingenious management skills in handling both large numbers of guests as well as field-staff in extreme conditions and for extended durations have been; the Everest Extreme Expeditions, Explorers Club Flag #117 Expedition, Werner Herzog's filming trip set in the harsh climes of the Tibetan plateau, and recently, the Himalayan Enfielders' ride to Lhasa and Everest Base Camp in Tibet in their classic Royal Enfiled 500 cc. motorcycles.
September 2003 saw a new dimension in Nepal's travel industry with the conception of an overland motorbike tour from Kathmandu into Tibet. Rabi organized and led this 15-day epic adventure to Lhasa and the Everest Base Camp in Rongbuk.
Of late, Rabi has been devoting much of his time in Maggie Burgess’ Promise Nepal Leprosy Program where he helps gather, compile and translate data on the Khokana Leprosy colony, which lies in the southern fringe of the Kathmandu Valley. Promise Nepal is a non-profit organization in the United Kingdom that extends support to leprosy patients in Nepal.

Ashim Pradhan - Manager
Ashim Pradhan, Manager, Sacred Summits (P) Ltd., is a trek-and-tour professional who has been in the industry since the last five years. Ashim has worked in various positions that demand a high level of responsibility as well as managerial skills. He is an experienced trekker, organizing and leading treks to the scenic mountains of the Nepal Himalaya. Schooled in St. Joseph's College, Darjeeling, India, from the primary till the tertiary level, he is a graduate of business studies. His other specializations include a mountaineering diploma from the HMI (Himalayan Mountaineering Institute), Darjeeling, and a First Aid Certificate from KEEP/National Board of Tourism, Nepal making him a well qualified person in the trade.
Ashim has successfully led treks for reputed international organizations including medical support treks. A noteworthy medical trek has been one to the mystical but barren realms of Mustang where the incessant howling winds every afternoon deter the human spirit. Inspite of it all, the Mustang Medical Mission (M3), comprising of a team of volunteer dentists and physicians did manage to treat more than 200 patients in two days.
He has been regularly leading treks to the rugged mountain terrains of Kalapathar (5545m) and Everest Base Camp (5300 m.), Catering to clients ranging from American, British, Israeli, French to Indian nationalities, Ashim is accustomed at dealing with a wide range of demands. He has also led treks to the Annapurna as well as Kanchenjunga (Base Camp) regions (from both Nepal and India).
His profound accomplishments as a trek and tour expert, sometimes in harsh conditions (which occasionally does occur in the mountains), valued advise, and leadership skills, contribute to the technical support he provides in designing and organizing the treks, tours and expeditions of Sacred Summits.

Bill Tamang - Cook
Bill Tamang is a head cook assisting in treks and expeditions of Sacred Summits (P) Ltd with more than 10 years of experience in the trekking field. His ability to cook variety of cuisine ranging from Chinese, Continental, Japanese, Indian and Nepalese dishes in harsh conditions with limited resources is his major talent. He has taken cooking classes in many organizations and also prepares baked items during the trek.
He has been an invaluable member of Sacred Summits team and has successfully managed to be a great cook and often called by the clients as ”legendry chef of the mountains” He is also invited by many companies in India during off season in Nepal to cook and train their staff on cooking lessons.

Dawa Jambu Sherpa - Sherpa
Dawa Jambu Sherpa, born and brought up Makhalu, Nepal, is a Sherpa (field staff) assisting in treks and expeditions of Sacred Summits (P) Ltd. He is hardworking, always smiling and does just about anything needed to do in treks/expeditions.
He is versatile as he also cooks, climb mountains and also leads small groups as a Sirdar. He also assists in the office as a store keeper and the runner boy, collecting flight tickets, assisting in airport pick up and drops etc.
Having trekked in almost all parts of Nepal and in West Sikkim he is one of the important members not only to make a a trek a success but also as a person who motivates his trek staffs by doing all work in field and leading as an example.

Dhan Bahadur Gurung - Sherpa
Dhan Bahadur Gurung, born and brought up at the laps of the Himalayas, Gorkha, Nepal, is a Sherpa (field staff) assisting in treks and expeditions of Sacred Summits (P) Ltd. Having trekked and climbed peaks and mountains with clients of different nationalities in Nepal and Tibet, he is experienced in dealing with people and caters to the demands of his job very efficiently. His sturdiness, resilience and endurance in the harsh conditions and high altitude areas, and his familiarity of the local mountainous regions have been an asset to the team.
An avid learner, Dhan Bahadur has gradually come to be an all-round field assistant capable in setting up camps as well as preparing delightful meals. His rhythmic dexterity comes to light when he takes the maadal (Nepali drum) to entertain guests at the end of the day.

Jit Bahadhur Gurung - Head Cook
Jit Bahadur Gurung was born and brought up at, Gorkha, Nepal. He is a head cook assisting in treks and expeditions of Sacred Summits (P) Ltd with more than 10 years of experience in the trekking field. His ability to cook variety of cuisine ranging from Chinese, Continental, Japanese, Indian and Nepalese dishes in harsh conditions with limited resources is his major talent. He has taken cooking classes in many organizations and also prepares baked items during the trek.
Being highly versatile with tremendous organizational skills, he singlehandedly took the responsibility to assist and support the Dutch Everest Expeditions 1998 and 1999, as well as the Millennium Expedition to Mount Manaslu in January 2001.
He has trekked extensively in Nepal and Tibet and has regularly been a climbing sherpa having scaled many Himalayan trekking peaks including Mera Peak and Island Peak.
As the Head Cook in the Mt. Kailash region of Tibet during the making of the Saka Dawa Festival documentary film by Mr. Werner Herzong, Jit's culinary skills delighted the German Movie producer from Hollywood as well as his photo-journalist wife, Mrs. Elena Herzog.

Palden Lama - Special Projects Director
Palden Lama, Special Projects Director started his career with the Indian Army. After four years in the army he quit his army career and moved to Nepal and joined the field of Treks & Tours. During his early years in Nepal he was also a national boxer (Bantam weight) for two years in 1982-1983. Long before he completed his Mountain Guide course in 1989 he had already started to trek and lead treks in the High Himalayas of Nepal. Till date he has been associated with Tourism in Nepal for more than 20 years.
In 1992 he was the Manager at the Everest Base Camp for a scientific expedition to Mt. Everest . His latest accomplishment has been organizing and leading the KTM Motorcycle (Austrian -650 CC) bikes to Tibet , Sikkim and Bhutan . He is actively involved as a translator for the PHD students of Medicine of Plants from the ‘Agricultural University of Denmark.'
Apart from Adventure Tourism he is also the President of the ‘The Himalayan Helpless Children's Academy', Kathmandu, which is an Austrian Village project and he contributes a certain percentage of his incomes to this school.
